The washing machines of "The soy children" installation work as keys for opening the institutional-museistic dispositive, and its recombination logics. The washing machines are, all together, an image that makes visible the bleaching, purifying and healing claim of the semiocapital discurse. From each one of the six machines of the installation cames out one research line.

Semiocapitalismo / Semiocapitalism.

“With the term semiocapitalism I define the mode of production that prevails in a society in which every act of transformation can be substituted for information, and the working process is carried out through the recombination of signs. In its traditional forms, semiosis had meaning as its specific product, but when semiotic processes become a part of the cycle of value production, the assignment of meaning isn’t the purpose of language any more.” 1b.

“The new form of production is based on a technological principle that substitutes totalization for recombination. Informatics and biogenetics are based on a principle of recombination: units able to multiply themselves, proliferate, recombine themselves, and escape totalization. A new sign can change the meaning of the whole picture." 1.

“Living Modified Organism: Any living organism that possesses a novel combination of genetic material obtained through modern biotechnology.” 2b.

“Farming pool is any of the possible combinations by means of which farming is carried out. A frequent form is the combination of a landowner, a contractor and an agronomist, who arrange a production in which each one contributes their resources (land, labour and supplies, respectively) and they share profits according to their participation.” 3.

To this "frequent form" we must add a no less frequent presence on these kind of recombinations of finnancial investors and/or absolutely outsiders of the land where transgenic crops is "carried out". Especulation not compromise with land reality and populations is notoriusly the main motor of these kind of actors.

¿Could we talk about a transgenic hegemonical culture in argentine contemporary art system? ¿Could we conceptualize as "recombinant" the main cultural discurse operation of the argentine social elite, the one that simultaneously legitimate (or not) these and those artistic praxis and is legitimated by them? ¿What kind of images and artistic subjetivities this elite needs today? ¿What kind of artistic education?

After the experiences of the 90, that enthroned simulacrum, parody and irony, after "artivism" and "art and politic" tag in 2001 ¿Could be today merely signs transgenic recombination how this social elite is blending the political powers of art?

Walking Arhives documents are poetic documents and not only information about reality. Inside of the installation, in front of the washing machines, we will find a wall with a set of these kind of documents about some examples of recombination operations in the context of the present semiocapitalism.

In the showcase, a set of drawings of black heads, floating over a burning land that is releasing smoke. The heads have their tongues out, and from them sentences spring, remembering the ones that were pronounced by diferent social actors during 2008, during the soy exportation taxes conflict.

¿Porqué San Ildefonso? Why San Ildefonso?

In the context of the project, for realizing our pieces, the curators collective invitation included a dialogue with a colonial barroque painting that we must choose from a repertoire, the result of a research that they made in Bolivia during 2008.

My selection was an anonymous author painting that is normally exhibit in the Casa de la Moneda of Potosí. Its name is " " . Is a composition wich organization are two dimensions -heaven and earth- and my interest was specially the second one. This was because of the presence of some wire plants, central protagonists of the scene. These plants have a wire scale in relation with human figures, some moments they seems to be giants and at the same time they become thumbnails. The same strangeness that for me, as a citizen of Buenos Aires, have the transgenic soy plants, because of the abscence of a real experience between them and my body.

¿Porqué Los niños de la soja? Why The soy children?

 http://archivo.lacapital.com.ar/2006/09/03/region/noticia_323292.shtml

The tittle of my piece, "The soy children" is because of two reasons: the first oneis that, in the beginning of my research, I founded the following report in internet:
 http://archivo.lacapital.com.ar/2006/09/03/region/noticia_323292.shtml
This report talks about children explotation in the little town of Las Petacas, Santa Fé province, Argentina. They are used there as "living flags" to make visible the land that the "mosquitos", the airplanes, must fumigate.

The second reason is part of the reflection that my piece proposes about what kind of culture needs the particular territorial display of the soy model. One of the main features of the hegemonic culture in visual arts in Argentina since the earlier '90 -excepting a short interruption between 2001 and 2004- was the social and artistic infantilization. This was expressed not only with some particular practices but specially because of their conceptualization, by the artists and the intelectuals, critics and institutions that supported, legitimated and distributed them. Is so funny to see the present effort and interest about art education of the same actors that during the dismantling of the public education argentine system (in all the levels) remained silent.
