Entre los meses de octubre de 2007 y febrero de 2008 residí en la ciudad alemana de Chemnitz, (Karl Marx Stadt desde 1953 hasta 1990). Invitado por el curador Volkmar Billig a participar del projecto "Trans-Aktion, Esculturas de la transición", cuyos ejes centrales eran las relaciones entre arte, trabajo e industria, mi propuesta incluía una instalación, un libro y una acción-perfomance en el espacio público. La imagen que vemos aquí fue una de las primeras de mi trabajo: proveniente de los manuales que leen los pasajeros de los vuelos áereos, ví allí una metáfora del silencio y del miedo, las herramientas con las que el control social se afirma hoy.
Since October 2007 to february 2008 I was living in the german city of Chemnitz (Karl Marx Stadt from 1953 to 1990). Invited by the curator Volkmar Billig to be part of the project "Trans-Aktion, Sculptures of transition", wich central topics were the relations between art, work and industry. My proposition included one installation, a book and an action-perfomance in the public space. The image that we can see here was one of the first of my work: coming from the manuals that the passengers read during their flights, I saw there a metaphore of silence and fear, the tools that bring power to social control today.
